** This incredible rare rug was part of the DOBAG project under which designers traveled to the Old Silk Road in the 1970's and found artisans still weaving hand spun wool in natural dyes. Using these ancient techniques which were used in the 1800's and prior for producing carpets and with the help of these local artistans these new rugs were woven with updated designs: this piece being a "mother and daughter motif. The project would eventually be abandoned due to the incredible cost in producing rugs in this manner.
